Goertek Leads Development of Industry Standard for VR Audio Quality Measurement
Recently, the electronic industry standard SJ/T 12302-2026, "Objective Measurement Methods for Audio Quality of Virtual Reality Devices," was officially released under the coordination of the National Standardization Technical Committee for Audio, Video and Multimedia Systems and Equipment. Led by Goertek, the standard fills a critical gap in objective audio quality evaluation for virtual reality devices.
Centered on core VR usage scenarios, the standard specifies objective measurement methods for audio quality in two typical scenarios—media playback and voice calls. It clearly defines test indicators, test environments, measurement procedures, and evaluation criteria, providing the industry with a unified and scientific benchmark. This will help drive the VR audio industry toward greater standardization and higher-quality development.
Goertek has long been deeply engaged in acoustics and XR technologies and actively participates in the development of national and industry standards. Looking ahead, Goertek will continue to collaborate with industry chain partners to translate technological achievements in virtual reality, acoustic sensing, and other fields into standards, delivering superior immersive audio experiences for the industry.
